In 2007 I began thinking about our new tech and began to develop a vision of a woman in Chicago who finally breaks free from heroin after years of war with herself. The needle is gone, but the deeper wound remains: the mirror still tells her she is worthless. 

And then I 'saw' a Successful Career Coach in Boston watch her daughter overdose twice and survive. This mother has incredibly valuable, shareable skills and tremendous resources. Yet she is helpless. Slowly being destroyed because she has no idea how to help her daughter remain alive.

Two women. Two different worlds. Each needing to know what the other knows.

One invisible tech bridge of wisdom could have changed everything for both if only there was a ‘way’ to connect priceless wisdom with people in great pain.

That single realization birthed the idea of The Dream Feeder.

This is not another platform. It is a sacred vessel for the unwritten stories that actually heal.

In 2013 a Dunkin counter attendant caught my eye. 

And I began thinking about and imagining his path to The American Dream and how this immigrant spent years scrubbing floors and toilets until one ordinary day a coworker didn’t show up. He stepped behind the counter and in an instant saw that he could easily do that job too. 

“I am worthy of more” he began to believe.

That single sentence rewired his life. 

Today he is a bank vice president raising children who will never question their worth. With incredible wisdom to share. Priceless wisdom to some. 

Priceless to… The People… across the globe who have no idea where to find the first rung of Success or what to do when you finally do.

Then I spent years thinking about an imaginary teenager mopping floors in Manila at 3 a.m. and how upon hearing about the rise of this Dunkin employee… in her own language… 

decides “if he can do it, so can I”.

She begins to think better thoughts. Becomes determined to never accept less for herself again.

And then I began imagining a much, much, much better world one dream at a time.

After all this time, my dream of building The Dream Feeder is coming true.

My name is Bill Keefe. I am the founder of The Dream Feeder.

For 25 years, beginning the day after 9/11... I have been searching for a way to turn humanity’s pain into renewal.

We have lived through an era of endless war, deepening division and A Global Wasted Talent Crisis that has left too many good people lost in frustration, isolation and despair. 

Political violence, mass shootings and deaths of despair are not isolated tragedies. They are symptoms of a deeper wounding: a civilization that has stopped believing in its own regenerative capacity.

The good news is... drug overdose deaths are trending down. But last year approximately 70,000 Americans sill died of drug overdoses and an additional 50,000 Americans committed suicide.

In case you were wondering when alcohol deaths are included, the annual “deaths of despair” number in America… well, that number explodes to approximately 200,000 people.

200,000 of our brothers and sisters and parents, friends and neighbors and Our Children. Gone. Every year.

Yes. The price we all pay for the rise of despair in America is unacceptable.

The equivalent of one small American city disappeared year after year after year by what we now call “deaths of despair”. 

Statistically speaking Mass Shootings are down too. Mass shootings are still a HUGE problem in America. They come and go every day.

Because some Americans allow their despair to turn into murderous rage.

Political Violence is on the rise because all forms of hate are on the rise.

And politicians deserve most of the blame.

By nature, Americans are an optimistic people. That’s what we tell ourselves anyway. 

We all feel less optimistic today. 

And now election season is here again and... here comes wave after wave after wave of new despair and rage because our politicians are about to tell us… constantly… how bad things are here in America.

Because that’s how modern elections are won.

And how a magic moment miraculously emerged when 300 million Americans woke-up at the same time to the fact that America is still the place where dreams come true and that we are ALL truly worthy of a lot, lot, lot more than endless darkness, division, hate and war.

AMERICA... I have cracked the code on the explosion of post 9/11 hate and most importantly created a way to do something about it.

When America responded to 9/11 by invading Iraq it was an Extreme response. It was an Extreme response because Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. 

When America invaded Iraq in order to demonstrate America's power to The Muslim World… WE… set The Extremist Genie free. 

Today The Extremist Genie is out of the bottle and can't be put back in. This Genie has no choice but to serve the most powerful master. Even if that master serves only The Greater Good. 

By some cosmic twist of fate... The Dream Feeder is now America’s home-grown solution to all forms of political Extremism, brought to you by a lone-wolf actor who felt the need to bring as much good into The World as was humanly possible. 

Here is the short version of what brought US here today: 

I took a leap of faith on the day after 9/11. 

Because ten days earlier, on September 1, 2001, my start-up behavioral health company for college students went live with a ‘test’ to determine if a subscription based, branded online outreach program could reach at risk college students ahead of crisis points. 

Think back to 2001. It was a pretty big idea at the time. Then came 9/11 and I was in possession of a first of a kind product dealing with stress, anxiety, grief, and depression… sparse as it was at the time and... 

Well, you get the point. I believed I had something to offer. 

So, I scrapped the eleven-college test and began offering the product to all colleges free of charge. 

Almost right away 375 schools joined in. 

To make this very long story short I was never able to create a business model I could live with, so I pulled the plug and began coming at the problem from an entirely different angle. 

The reason I am sharing this story now, is because early after 9/11 I learned a ‘truth’ about Terrorism and all forms of Extremism that is about to change everything. 

It’s the idea that: Extremism can’t be stopped. It must be replaced by better ideas. 

Since the day after 9/11 I have been crafting the ideas that would give those in desperate need of change at whatever level, the ways and means to begin to create believable change...

WITHOUT VIOLENCE. 

I know that’s a big claim, to claim that I have such ideas. But I do. I’ve been working on this for two and a half decades. 

Almost right away after September 11th people began talking about how America was in A War of Ideas- and because America had the best ideas... we had nothing to fear. 

But it's 25 years after 9.11 and in too many ways America is losing this war of ideas with The World's Extremists...

BECAUSE... WE NEVER REALLY TRIED TO FIGHT AND WIN... THE WAR OF IDEAS.

America's leaders NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM ever made the case for America.

They tried to 'shock and awe' the world into submission with a massive show of force in Iraq and then they tried to decapitate 'the enemy' by assassinating their leadership with precision drone strikes that weren't nearly as precise as American leaders claimed they were- all the while they tried to hide the true nature of our hyper-surveillance state.

And our problems with Income Inequality and Race?

Well, they made our problems with Extremism worse, MUCH WORSE because in one way or another ALL OF IT helped to reveal the biting hypocrisy of some of our best ideas.

On September 12th 2001...

I began crafting 'The Competing Narrative' that would allow America to Fight and WIN The War of Ideas that began on 9.11.

A war of ideas that we are still fighting and unfortunately still losing today. 

A fact that I am now painfully reminded of every time I open my social media feeds and see another AI generated Iran war related LEGO video.

MY FELLOW AMERICANS…

today we make the case for the American way.

By making the case to Humanity that every single Soul on the planet deserves to be free and have the opportunity to make their dream come true and maximize their God Given Talent. Everyone. No exceptions.

Twenty-five years ago, I had no idea what I was doing. I just wanted to help my country in any way that I could. 25 years later I guess you could say that I tried so hard that I couldn't stop.

Today I have created the MASSIVE new strategic enterprise that America needs to finally win the war of ideas.

To be clear the pursuit of this 'Competing Narrative' has cost me just about everything that I had to give. But for 25 years- I woke up every day and did all that I could... guided by my dreams.

You see, just like Albert Einstein, Niels Bohr, John Lennon and Paul McCartney... my nighttime dreams reveal 'words & ideas'.

Since September 11th my dreams are about how to make The Post-9.11 World... A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE... for everyone.

In fact, in one dream I even heard the words- "The name of your new venture will be Freice". 

Don't ask me how this works. Because I don't know, other than to say that I know that this type of 'dream-writing' works.

Along the way- I gave up everything but my dreams. After all, with dreams like this how could I stop?

TODAY... I have completed this task of mine- writing 'The Competing Narrative' that will finally allow America to Fight and WIN The War of Ideas.
